THE THESIS

A PRIVATE EXECUTIVE SALON, WHERE THE AI CONVERSATION FINALLY GETS THE EDGE SOCIETY CAN NO LONGER AVOID

AI is not just code.

It is not just quarterly profits.

It is philosophy.

It is consequence.

It is power.

OFFSIDE convenes C-suite leaders, board members, policy makers, founders, educators, and artists to confront, in one room, where AI adoption is racing past the lines that global societies have not yet drawn.

THE PLAYBOOK

JULY 9 AGENDA

6:00 PM

DOORS OPEN

Opening Networking Reception — The pre-match. Arrive, register, and settle into the room. This is the warm-up, time to meet peers working the same terrain and to find your footing before play begins.

7:00 PM

OFFSIDE PANEL DISCUSSION BEGINS

The Opening Whistle — Play begins. Your conveners set the terms of the evening and name the question underneath it. To be offside is to move ahead of the rules. That is precisely where most organizations now stand with AI.

9:00 PM

CLOSING NETWORKING RECEPTION

The After-Match — The whistle ends the match, not the conversation. The evening's questions move from the stage to the people who will carry them into the week.

10:00 PM

EVENT ENDS

Full Time — The lights come up and the room clears. What was said moves from the evening into the work that follows.

THE CONVENERS

ATELLIGEN

CONSULTING GROUP

Atlanta-based strategic advisory specializing in AI governance, workforce transformation, and responsible innovation. Founded by Atinna Smith, a former Fortune 5 workforce-transformation leader, Atelligen moves organizations from fragmented AI experimentation to governed implementation through its proprietary A.C.T.U.A.L. framework.

INSURGI

MEDIA GROUP

New York-based culture-tech agency bridging technology, culture, and capital through experiential activations, innovation storytelling, and founder ecosystem development. Led by Alexandra Mitchelson — Alex Mitch — Insurgi accelerates emerging-technology adoption among communities historically excluded from the innovation economy.

"In football, the strongest teams are not built on individual brilliance alone. They are built on formation, trust, and partners who understand the field the same way you do."

05 · THE RECAP

IN THEIR WORDS

"OFFSIDE created a thoughtful and genuinely engaging space for meaningful conversation around AI, strategy, and opportunity. I especially appreciated the quality of the dialogue and the caliber of people in the room. It felt intimate, relevant, and well-curated. I'd be glad to stay involved and explore future opportunities to partner."

FROM THE ROOM

WHAT THE ROOM DECIDED

Six tensions, conclusions, and calls to action that emerged from the salon floor.

01

GOVERNANCE IS AN OPERATING MODEL

The room agreed: AI governance isn't a compliance checkbox. It's a leadership question. Who decides? Who is accountable? How does your decision-making structure change when the machine is in the loop?

02

MEASURE VALUE, NOT ACTIVITY

Organizations are tracking deployments, not outcomes. The harder — and more honest — question is whether AI is producing quality, speed with control, risk reduction, or better customer experience. Usage metrics lie. Impact metrics don't.

03

AUTOMATE THE RIGHT PROCESS

Automating a broken process doesn't fix it. It accelerates it. Process redesign has to come before broad automation — or you're just moving faster in the wrong direction.

04

TRUST REQUIRES TRANSPARENCY

Employees want to know what AI means for their roles. Customers want to know how their data is handled. Neither is asking to stop the technology — they're asking for guardrails. Human-in-the-loop isn't a limitation. It's the design.

05

BUILD GOVERNANCE BEFORE SCALE

Define ownership, validation steps, and acceptable-use boundaries before you deploy broadly. Use a pre-mortem: identify where AI could fail, build a kill list, and don't overcommit to low-value use cases.

06

ATLANTA IS SETTING THE STANDARD

The salon didn't happen in a vacuum. Atlanta's AI governance conversation this year has moved toward equity impact assessments, vendor cybersecurity standards, and permanent advisory structures. The room was part of that larger arc.
